Lei Tai

Early Histrory

The term Lei Tai comes from the Chinese language and means "Fightingstage".

This camp-base had no fortifications at the edge and was up to 2.5 meters high and 10m x 10m. Almost every major city had one of these grandstands. This was followed by events with combat sports demonstrations and competitions, which were then designated as Lei Tai. These battles also included those in which the death of one or both of the competitors was accepted. This had already been agreed in advance

Today

Today the Lei Tai is a fair and sporting discipline, which is carried out with appropriate protective equipment. The safety and health of the fighters is at the forefront.
